We went in for an ultrasound today. It got pushed back by almost 2 hours and Lance had to miss it so he could go to work but it finally got done. They were able to do a abdominal ultrasund instead of vaginally which is exciting! They found the baby with a beating heart of 114 beats per minute!!!! For the first time I got to actually hear the heart beat. I am sorry that Lance had to miss that. It is such a huge milestone!
It is measuring at 6 weeks 2 days which is exactly the size it should be compared to last week. Based on my last period it should be 7 weeks 2 days but my cycles are longer hence ovulation is later so that is almost perfect. Dr. Schulte is ecstatic about how everything is looking so that gives me so relief.
After today I should be feeling better about this, and for awhile I did, but I can't get out of my head that I have seen a heartbeat before and things went terribly wrong. We will start having ultrasounds every other week until 12 weeks so that is reassuring. I can't wait till the 22 when I can see my luv bug again.
I did get lectured about not taking my nausea medicine. I am so afraid to take anything but Dr. Schulte made a good point. These medications are safe and I need to be able to eat and keep me and the baby nourished. So I will start to take them on a regular basis and really think about what I am and am not eating. I have to act like this pregnancy is going to go full term even if I am constantly doubting it. I want my lil luv bug to be as healthy as possible.
